COME, LET US ADORE HIM

Jesus did not have his start in Bethlehem. In fact, he stepped out of glory for you and me. This series for Advent will centre on four different reasons why we should adore him at the crib this Christmas season.

O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM

Three years after visiting Bethlehem, Phillips Brooks wrote this well-known Christmas Carol for his Sunday School at Holy Trinity Church in Philadelphia in 1868. In each sermon, we use one verse to launch us into the Christmas Story in the hope that the Holy Child of Bethlehem will descend to us today.

THE BODY OF CHRIST

The Bible gives us a number of pictures that emphasise the idea that a church is an active worshipping community. This series is based on Paul's picture of the church as a body, with Christ as the head and each of us is a valuable part of the body.

THE CHURCH ON PURPOSE

This series is based on Luke's summary of life in the Early Christian Church found in Acts, 2:42-47. If we actively engage in following their example, can not our Lord today add to our number those who are being saved?

Luke again takes us behind the scenes of life in the Early Christian Church and this snapshot may prove to be more stunning than the public displays of the Holy Spirit's power.

THE GIFT OF GIVING

It is never easy to approach the subject of giving because it is often seen as an attack upon our personal finances. However, tithing may be the real key for spiritual fulfilment in your own spiritual life. Whilst this teaching may be difficult for some to hear, when we obey God's own word on this subject, we find a promise that every Christian ought to claim.
